How to Find Paid UGC Work in Australia

Paid UGC work is easier to find when you can tell a confirmed paid call from everything that only looks like one.

The short answer

Start with public sources that state their requirements: one confirmed paid call and six creator platforms that list paid campaigns. Read each source's own eligibility, and separate a confirmed paid call from a platform sign-up, a speculative brand prospect, an affiliate (commission-only) programme and a gifted-only offer. If you have no portfolio or published content yet, you may have no suitable opportunity today; build three short self-initiated samples first.

UGC (user-generated content) is content you make for a brand to post on its own channels or run as ads. Paid UGC work means a brand pays an agreed fee for that content. The hard part is not finding pages that mention UGC; it is telling which of them is actually a paid opportunity you can apply for now.

Five kinds of opportunity, and only one is a confirmed paid call

  • Confirmed paid opportunity / call: a named brand or publisher states it is looking for paid creators now.
  • Paid creator platform (not a specific brand campaign): a marketplace where brands post paid campaigns. Signing up is a step, not a job.
  • Speculative brand prospect (no confirmed demand): a brand you could pitch, with no stated demand for creators.
  • Affiliate programme (commission only): you earn only if your link produces sales.
  • Gifted only (no payment): product instead of a fee.

Read the stated requirements, not the headline

Check follower minimums, portfolio or published-content requirements, platforms and location on each source's own page. A requirement the page does not state is unknown, not met. A follower range mentioned in a story or example is not necessarily a minimum. Scout shows the requirement each source states and labels your fit as Suitable now, Conditional, Not currently suitable or Unknown.

If you have zero followers and no portfolio yet

You may have no suitable paid opportunity right now, and that is normal. Paid opportunities commonly ask for examples. Build three short self-initiated samples first so you have credible work to share. Label them honestly as self-initiated: they are not commissioned or paid work.

Before you accept a paid brief

Confirm the deliverables, revisions, usage and whitelisting, exclusivity and the payment trigger in writing. Brand Deal Commercials shows which of those terms a brief states, leaves unclear or leaves out. Free. No signup required.

Common questions

Is joining a creator platform the same as getting paid work?
No. A paid creator platform is where brands post campaigns. Joining it does not mean a specific brand has offered you paid work; you still apply to individual campaigns and meet each one's requirements.
Can I find paid UGC work with zero followers?
Sometimes, because UGC is content a brand posts on its own channels or runs as ads, so some programmes care more about examples than followers. Many still ask for a portfolio or published content. If you have neither, you may have no suitable opportunity now; make three short self-initiated samples first.
Is affiliate or gifted work paid UGC work?
Not in the sense of a fee. Affiliate programmes pay commission only if sales happen, and gifted-only offers pay in product. Treat both separately from a paid brief with an agreed fee.
Does this list include every opportunity in Australia?
No. It is the seven public sources Scout re-reads. Other legitimate sources exist, and listings or requirements on these pages can change at any time.
How much do paid UGC jobs pay?
This guide does not quote rates: DUE has no verified, current Australian rate data to publish. Agree a fee for the deliverables and usage before starting, then check the brief's commercial terms.
